La Crosse Area Bicycle Festival

Labor Day Weekend in the Driftless Region of West Central Wisconsin and Southeastern Minnesota.

Join us Labor Day weekend as we celebrate cycling in the Driftless Region at the La Crosse Area Labor Day Weekend Bicycle Festival presented by Mayo Clinic Health System.  The festival will begin Thursday evening at Pearl Street Brewery and continue through the weekend at Cameron Park downtown La Crosse.

Thursday, September 1, 2011

Friday, September 2, 2011
-Registration/Packet Pick-up 7-9am Cameron Park
-”Featured Ride” Coon Valley Coulee Express (28, 48, 57 miles) 7-9am window start
-Human Powered Trails Regular Group Ride 5:30pm
-Registration/Packet Pick-up 4-8pm Cameron Park Friday Night Farmer’s Market
-Fat Tire Fundraiser (benefiting the Driftless Region Bicycle Coalition) at Bodega Brew Pub – 5:00pm Sponsored by New Belgium Brewing Co.

Saturday, September 3, 2011
-Registration/Packet Pick-up 7-9am Cameron Park
-Coffee/Muffin Ride – Blue Cup Coffee Shop – Holmen, WI depart at 7:30 am and again at 8:00am
-”Featured Ride” Norski Tur (25,50, 75, 100 miles) 7-9:00am window start
-Architectural Tour #1-1:30pm (Crowley and Edgewood Place National Register of Historic Places Residential Historic Districts)
-La Crosse Homemade Ice Cream Tour 3:00pm
-Architectural Tour #2 – 5:00pm (10th and Cass and Cass King Residential Historic Districts)
-Party in the Park 5:00-10:00pm Cameron Park (Big Event Company Bounce House, Storytellers at 7:00pm, Movie “UP” at 8:15 on outdoor screen)

Sunday
-Registration/Packet Pick-up 7-9am Cameron Park
-Coffee/Muffin Ride – Panera Bread Co. and Onalaska Farmers Market at Crossing Meadows Shopping Center, Onalaska WI – depart at 8:00am
-”Featured Ride” The World’s Laziest Ride – aka “Tri State Metric Century” 62 miles (options for 30 miles) options to return on Wisconsin side of the Mississippi River through Lansing, IA 75 miles 7-9am window start
-Skull Splitter Ride -Gravel and Pavement Ride in SE Minnesota 56 miles (1/2 gravel and 1/2 pavement) challenging ride through Brownsville and Hokah and finishing on Apple Blossom Drive back to Cameron Park departs at 9:00am
-Mountain Bike Time Trial at Human Powered Trails (HPT), registration at 12:30 pm Time Trial begins at 1:00pm (Trails are open for all to ride the rest of the day
-Architectural Tour #3 – 1:30pm Historic Churches
-La Crosse Homemade Ice Cream Tour 3:00pm
-Pearl Street Block Party – Historic Downtown La Crosse 4:30-10:00 pm live music-4 bands (Simple Rogues, Gideon’s Radio, Moon Boot Posse, Three Beers ‘Till Dubuque)

Monday
-Registration/Packet Pick-up 7-9 am Cameron Park
-Coffee/Muffin Ride – West Salem, WI to Features Sports Bar and Grill departs at 8:00am
-”Featured Ride” The Drifless Region’s Most Scenic Ride 75 miles (options for 34, 48, 65 miles) 7-9:00am window start

In addition registered participants will receive wristbands good for specials at area downtown businesses throughout the weekend.  The featured daily ride maps and turn-by-turn directions can be found under bicycling in the region.
